The top 5 FREE Christmas money-saving apps of 2019

Bobatoo is in full festive mode at the moment, working hard to find ways to save you money during the busiest time of year.
They say there’s an app for everything these days, so we decided to test that theory out and find out whether you could save money using smartphone apps this Christmas.
With plenty of money saving tips and Christmas saving vouchers, here are the apps you’ll want to download this year.
Manage Christmas (iOS)

Number 1 on our list is ‘Manage Christmas’, the free money-saving app for iPhones, iPads and other Apple devices.
Manage Christmas can save you money by letting you set budgets for individual people, allowing you to meticulously plan what you’re buying and who you’re buying for – all you need to do is insert the person’s name and how much you’d like to spend, as well as any gifts that you’ve already bought or are planning to buy.
The app will calculate how much money you’ve got left to spend (or if you’re over budget, how much you should send back!) as well as generate gift ideas, because Christmas won’t be Christmas without presents!
Christmas List (Android)

This is pretty much the Android alternative to Manage Christmas, available for free on any device with access to the Google Play Store.
The app allows you to keep track of all your Christmas gift ideas, marking them as ‘purchased’ once they’ve been bought and ‘wrapped’ once they’re ready to go under the tree. You can also set individual budgets for your friends and family, ensuring that you never spend too much over the festive period.
You can send and share your Christmas list through social media or email and add images, links and personalized notes to make sure you remember exactly what it was that your other half hinted at this year.
Quidco (iOS & Android)

We’re huge fans of Quidco here at Bobatoo, and plenty of others feel the same – perhaps that’s why they’re the UK’s number one cashback site.
Recommended by Martin Lewis (Money Saving Expert), the Quidco app allows you instant access to Quidco cashback deals on everything from the big Christmas shop to the best Christmas gifts. Simply click one of their links leading to your chosen retailer and make a purchase as you normally would – your cashback will be paid into your Quidco account, where you can choose to withdraw it to your bank account, PayPal or spend it on gift vouchers at selected retailers.
You can sign up to Quidco for free here and receive a free £10 cashback bonus when you complete your first purchase over £10.

VoucherCodes (iOS & Android)

VoucherCodes.co.uk is the home of UK discounts – and now it has an app, too!
As well as displaying all existing offers from top retailers, restaurants and more, VoucherCodes have exclusive discount codes which offer customers additional discounts, potentially up to 35%.
If you’re a student, you can register for VoucherCodes with a verified university email address and earn even more discounts.
Whether you’re doing your Christmas shopping online or in-store, there are plenty of vouchers to be found on the Voucher Codes app.
But is Voucher Codes safe? Absolutely! In fact, if your code doesn’t work, Voucher Codes will give you a £20 Pizza Express voucher.
VoucherCodes (iOS & Android)

When it comes to money saving ideas for Christmas, people are often too keen to start thinking about presents when, in fact, there has been a 48% increase in the number of shoppers looking to spend in excess of £400 on food and drink this year.
mySupermarket is a money saving app dedicated to food shoppers, offering savings of up to 30% on groceries – perfect for when ‘the big shop’ comes around mid-December.
By comparing prices with all of the UK’s top supermarkets, you can guarantee that you’ll be getting the best value for money on the market when picking up your pigs in blankets and Christmas pudding this year – you can even earn cashback when you shop online.
Create a shopping list on the mySupermaket app and they’ll tell you what is cheaper where – if you don’t want to make multiple trips to do your shop, mySupermarket will let you know where you can do your whole shop for the cheapest price. As Christmas food ideas go, this is one of the best!
