GoSkippy car insurance
Go Skippy are an online insurance broker that aim to match you up with the most cost effective car insurance policy from it’s stable of partner insurance companies.
The insurers Go Skippy works with include Allianz, AXA and Equity Red Star, and their products tend to be aimed at young and new drivers who are looking for cheap insurance with no frills.
Like all top car insurance providers, Go Skippy offers the three main policy levels: Third Party Only; Third Party, Fire and Theft; Comprehensive.
To learn more, read our guide: What does ‘third party’ and ‘comprehensive’ car insurance actually mean?
Go Skippy’s comprehensive policy provides the highest level of cover, which protects you for any accident you might have on the road – whether it was your fault or not. It will provide cover for any damage you cause to your vehicle and to third party vehicles, as well as any injury or other property damage you cause.
With a Go Skippy comprehensive policy you are also covered to drive anywhere in Europe, and you have cover for up to £150 of your personal belongings.
As it provides the most cover, the comprehensive insurance is the most expensive from Go Skippy. If you are looking for cheaper insurance, and don’t mind not having your own car covered for damage you cause, then you can opt for either the Third Party, Fire and Theft or Third Party Only policy options.
GoSkippy are currently offering a free dash cam to the first 1,000 people who take out a new car policy. You can obtain a quote now by visiting their website.
As Go Skippy’s car insurance is designed to be cheap and tailored to new drivers, their policies don’t include some of the extras that other car insurance companies offer.
However, there are extra policy features available to buy as ‘add-ons’ – including:
- Breakdown cover
- Personal accident cover
- Key cover
- Windscreen cover
- Mis-fuelling cover
For an extra cost you can also protect your no-claims discount, but you should be aware that this can only be used on a Go Skippy policy if it is less than two years old.
You should also note that Go Skippy will not insure any car that is worth more than £50,000, which again places them very much as the budget insurer of choice for young and new drivers.
How much does GoSkippy car insurance cost?
As with all car insurance companies, the amount you pay for a premium from Go Skippy will depend on a host of different factors, including:
- Your age

- Where you park the car at home (on the road, driveway, garage etc…)
- What you use the car for (commuting, driving for work etc…)
- Annual mileage
